Accident Tolerant Fuel Seminar
This seminar is directed at engineers, physicists and materials scientists with an interest in current trends in accident tolerant fuel (ATF). Currently there is a number of development activities at different fuel vendors and different research facilities directed to develop various ATF concepts. The primary aim of this seminar is to summarise those research activities and trends and to provide a basic understanding of ATF and the efforts of development. The seminar will address the background for the research. Issues which the ATF will face during both normal operation and and accidental conditions will be discussed. The seminar will also address results of current research and future plans. The aim of the seminar is to give a practical understanding of how ATF concepts are different from the current commonly used fuel and how this impacts the reactor operation and fuel licensing. The seminar will provide reactor design engineers and reactor operations staff an appreciation for materials and manufacturing process selection in ATF.
This is a one-and-a-half-day seminar.
